Hey All!
Just a quick posting to let you know Jeff is doing very well. As he mentioned in his previous post, he is pretty wiped out, but we can deal with that over pain or nausea! He is able to eat much more which is probably part of what is making him so tired. Takes a lot of energy to digest food! He is still only eating: Egg McMuffins, orange juice, a little water, some flavored water, some sandwiches, grilled cheese and frosted oranges from The Varsity. That's about all the variety he can handle right now. Oh, and chicken friend rice worked this week too!
The doctors are really pleased with his progress and one of his mid-level nurses even mentioned he might get his port out next week. We both almost passed out! That would be HUGE. The port makes him nuts, it is just always there, itches and of course, he can't workout much. Don't think he'll be doing many pull-ups once it is removed, but at least it is an option then.
Thanks so much for all the comments, prayers, support, meals, dogsitting, cards, games, errand running etc! You all are wonderful and so appreciated! M
Today's pic: Spike (aka: The Cancer Dog) in his normal healing position. I have to say, he really does help Jeff!
yeah-yeah, spikers gettin' the nod. glad things continue to get better. we'll miss ya at the challenge, but to worry. we're lookin' at a freedom repeat.

Jeff,
It's great to hear that you're getting better! Man, I miss seeing you at the gym. I ripped my hand for the first time yesterday by playing around on the pullup bars trying to be like Smugs and JW! I feel all tough with ripped up, raw hands!
Tomorrow's going to be a good day - Freedom is going to defend our title. We'll make sure you get a full account of our victory!
Oh, not sure if you've seen this yet (I'll send over a hard copy for you), but I *improved* the group photo we sent you of last month's Freedom crew. Check it out :)

Personally I think the chuck taylors make the photo.
Here's to that port being out sooner than later, and your continuous progress. Nothing starts the day off better than hearing good news for you two!
Indeed, we'll miss you at the challenge, but I'm sure you'll see a blog posting or 500 about who (Free)dominated.

Get all the sleep you need. Football season is upon us my friend! Looking forward to a great season.
Speaking of shoes, if I am not mistaken Mr. Howard purchased a pair of Vans for you.
See you soon.

So happy to hear of your progress! So amazing how the body can be all torn down and then start all over again! Thanking God for all He's doing! Always praying!

Hi Jeff, I'm so excited to hear you might be able to get that port out of your body very soon. That would be amazing! I can only imagine what a pain in the neck it has been (yes, you know me, pun intended)!
You should have heard the Freedom crew boasting about their 4-peat in the Challenge this morning. We have got some big heads--and muscles--gathering at Manuel's Tavern every morning. You need to get well, get back in shape, and kick their butts. Miss seeing you SO MUCH!!!!

Love the photo! Oddly enough, my hangover cure is an egg mcmuffin! :) Thinking only positive thought for you...

Jeff,
Good to hear that you're getting some good stats. You guys are such a strong team. Santi and I are glad to hear about your progress and your egg mcmuffins.
Nothing much to update on our side. The Decatur camp is going well. We have some great people that continue to come back. Santi and I have been wakeboarding almost every weekend until Santi's obsession with college football takes center stage. Mateo is a big brutus. He is pushing and biting other kids at daycare. Part of me wants to discipline him but the other part of me is secretly proud.
Miss seeing you guys...Ashley

Jeff:
Watching from Arizona. Varsity food makes you feel better? I never got the knack for Varsity food. I guess it is a southern thang.
It looks like Spike has it all under control.
Hello, Melissa. The goddess...I like that!

Hey Jeff!!!
Whoa...getting the port out soon would be awesome! We think about you all the time and the whole Freedom crew can't wait to have you back at the gym. Maybe you can even come out for a little BC workout just for old times sake???
You should stay tuned for Grizz's blog updates starting in September when he promises to make a few 'Grizz working out in fun plances' videos for the blog during his bike trip out west. Should be some great entertainment for you!
Remember, I'm a block away if there is ever anything I can do for you guys (or Spike and Scout for that matter). : )
Can't wait to see you guys soon!
