I can still get out in the daylight, but apparently, my thirst for blood is getting stronger. Today was my first clinic day since the last chemo. I have been feeling great, but just a bit tired the last couple of days. I was hoping today was just one of those days to get my labs taken and be sent home after the results. Not so fast my friend. I was held up for two hours to day to get not one, but two units of donor blood. My red blood cell counts were too low. I call it "getting the freaky". I have no problem whatsoever with the sight of blood, but for some reason, the thought of taking in someone elses blood is just freaky for me. Whatever, when I wake up tomorrow morning, I'll feel like Superman again, I'm sure. Just like the last time I got the freaky.
As always, my best nurse was right by my side today, making funny faces to keep my mind off the steak juice in the IV. She's the best.
Jeff...just thinking about you. Thanks for sharing your journey.....my positive thoughts are with you. Melissa....sending my positive thoughts to you too. The nursing job is also a tough one. My best to you both. Hugs, Rosemary

Enjoy the blood...reminds me of the time I sneaked a bag of mine out of the Doctor's office and poured it over our rose bed...much to the delight of the dogs and horror of Jennifer (she watches too much Law & Order)!
You are very much in our thoughts. You and Melissa rock- very inspirational.
Be strong and woop some butt!

The mind can help heal the body. Sounds like you've got the right attitude. Hope this is over for you soon.
